The automotive ignition coil is a crucial component of the engine's ignition system. Its primary function is to transform the low voltage from the vehicle's battery (typically 12 volts) into the high voltage (tens of thousands of volts) required to create an electric spark across the spark plug gap, igniting the fuel-air mixture within the cylinders.

Spark plugs are installed at the top of the engine cylinders. Their critical function is to introduce the high-voltage electricity generated by the ignition coil into the combustion chamber and create a spark between the electrodes, igniting the air-fuel mixture to drive the piston.

Ignition cables, often referred to as high-tension leads or spark plug wires, are critical transmission components connecting the ignition coil to the spark plugs.
